Este artículo estudia la relación de interdependencia entre el sobreendeudamiento público de la Argentina y el cambio climático. El texto aborda los siguientes interrogantes: qué tipo de modelo productivo promueve el perfil de deuda pública en la Argentina y cuál es su incidencia sobre el cambio climático. En un esquema de servicio de deuda signado por la consolidación fiscal, que condiciona fuertemente el presupuesto estatal, ¿qué fondos públicos quedan disponibles para invertir en adaptación y mitigación, y cuál es el rol del FMI en este esquema fiscal-ambiental?

This paper looks into the interdependence between Argentina’s overindebtedness and climate change. The text addresses the following questions: what type of productive model promotes the public debt profile in Argentina, and what impact on climate change does it have? In a debt service scheme marked by fiscal consolidation, which strongly conditions the state budget, what public funds are available to invest in adaptation and mitigation, and which is the role of the IMF in this fiscal-environmental scheme?
