En este artículo se presenta la figura de la Licencia Social para Operar (LSO) en las empresas de las industrias extractivas como una herramienta que facilita el cumplimiento de sus obligaciones en materia de Planes de Gestión Social, ya que garantiza la participación de la comunidad en los proyectos que se desarrollan en sus territorios y ayuda a prevenir, mitigar y remediar las afectaciones a sus derechos, desde la perspectiva de los Principios Rectores de la ONU.

In this article the figure of the Social License to Operate (LSO) is presented in the companies of the extractive industries as a tool that facilitates the fulfillment of their obligations regarding Social Management Plans, since it guarantees the participation of the community in the projects that are developed in their territories and helps to prevent, mitigate and remedy the effects on their rights, from the perspective of the UN’s Right Principles.
